BARN QUILT PROJECT

 Information and Rules:

           Entry deadline, Wednesday, September 20 at 4 p.m.


  • Entry age 15 and up
  • $20.00 entry (Separate from Open Class Entries)
    • a percentage of entry fee will be returned to the exhibitors placing first, second and third in the Barn Quilt Project.
  • Only one “Barn Quilt” per person
  • Size of board shall be plywood 4’ X 4’ X 1/4”
  • Quilt Board exhibited more than two years will be excluded
  • Double coat primer/ sealer base, painted all sides of board (helps with weatherizing)
  • Design has two coats of exterior latex paint (add to weather protecting the design and board)
  • The pattern must be a clean design, quilt appearance
  • Entry tag must be attached on the back of board
  • Have your name, phone number on paper and place in a plastic zip lock baggie and secure it to the back of the board
  • Write the name of the pattern and place it in a zip lock baggie and secure it on the front
  •  Barn Quilt along with your entry tag to be brought to the fairgrounds on Sept. 22 or 23 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Building 50)
  • Judging will take place behind closed doors from public viewing on Sept. 23 starting at 6:00 pm. The winners will be notified by a phone call and then the winning boards will be hung prior to opening day. Also, where they will remain hanging for the remaining time of fair week
  • September 23rd after judging you will receive a phone call to pick up your board on that same evening if your quilt does not place.
  • Fairfield County Agricultural Society will not be held responsible for damages or thief or loss.
  • To release the board to you, you must show your entry ticket Sunday, Oct. 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the main entrance to the Art Hall.
